Platts to discontinue US OX domestic contract price assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will discontinue the monthly Orthoxylene contract price (CP) on a FOB USGC basis, effective Nov. 14, in light of a lack of contract market transparency and assessment's limited relevance.

The assessment that will be discontinued is currently published in Europe and Americas Petrochemicalscan, Platts Connect and Platts Market Center, as well as in the Price Point database under the following symbol:

The last transaction price assessment will be databased on Nov. 3, 2025.

Platts will continue to report on industry developments in the form of news while also collecting and publishing heards with any price information pertaining to the contract price negotiations that might be relevant to market participants.

Platts will also continue to publish the FOB US Gulf weekly spot assessment in Europe and Americas Petrochemicalscan, Platts Connect and Platts Market Center, as well as in the Price Point database under the below symbol:
