Platts launches two ammonium sulfate CFR Brazil assessments, amends methodology of existing AS CFR Brazil range assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched two weekly price assessments for ammonium sulfate (AS) delivered to Brazil, on a CFR Brazil North-Northeast and CFR Brazil South-Southeast basis, effective Sept. 4, 2025.

The assessments capture market activity in Brazil's different regions and complement Platts' existing coverage of the AS market in the country.

The assessments have the following specifications:

Assessment Name: Ammonium Sulfate CFR Brazil SSE

  • Symbol: FUZAA04
  • Quality: 21% N, compacted/granular ammonium sulfate
  • Quantity: 5,000-10,000 mt
  • Basis and location: CFR Paranagua, Parana
  • Timing: Delivered between seven and 40 days from the date of publication
  • Frequency: Weekly

Assessment Name: Ammonium Sulfate CFR Brazil NNE

The weekly price assessments are published as a single "close" value to a 1630 Sao Paulo timestamp and follow the Sao Paulo publishing calendar.

Alignment of weekly range assessment methodology

Additionally, the weekly range for ammonium sulfate (21% N) caprolactam compacted/granular CFR Brazil (FASCG04) assessment now reflects the lowest and highest values published from the above-mentioned AS CFR Brazil SSE and NNE assessments, effective Sept. 4, 2025.

No additional market information will be taken into account.

For example, if Platts assesses AS CFR Brazil SSE at $300/mt and AS CFR Brazil NNE at $350/mt, ammonium sulfate (21% N) caprolactam compacted/granular CFR Brazil (FASCG04) will be assessed at $300-$350/mt.

Platts has also amended the specifications of the weekly CFR Brazil assessment (FASCG04) to align with those of the above-mentioned AS CFR Brazil SSE and NNE assessments.

The updated specifications for the Ammonium Sulfate (21% N) Caprolactam Compacted/Granular CFR Brazil $/mt Weekly (FASCG04) are as follows:
