Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to launch a daily spot assessment for the recycled polyethylene terephthalate premium-grade pellet on an ex-works India basis effective Oct. 1, 2025.
Platts has observed growing interest in and development of the domestic Indian market, following the introduction of the minimum content legislation mandate and food-grade regulatory guidelines, the wide adoption of this grade of R-PET and greater demand for pricing transparency in the region.
The proposed daily assessment would be based on the latest market information until the assessment process closes at 4:30 pm Singapore time.
The proposed assessment would be expressed in Indian rupees/kg and would follow the Indian publishing schedule.
The proposed assessment would reflect the product with the following parameters:
| R-PET food-grade pellets | |
| Specifications | IV: 0.8 Post-consumer feedstock, 100% clear color |
| Basis and locations | Ex-works India |
| Timing | 4.30 pm Singapore |
| Volume | 20-200 mt |
| Credit terms | Prepayment to up to 7 days post-delivery |
| Laycan | 1-15 days forward loading |
Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized to the proposed standard.
The assessment would be published alongside Platts' existing recycled plastics assessments in the Polymer Scan, Asia Petrochemical Scan, and Sustainable Polymer Scan, Platts' real-time petrochemical service, Platts Market Center and Platts Connect.
