Platts proposes to change US R-PET specifications for clear flakes, food-grade pellets

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to change Los Angeles, Chicago, and US Southeast recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) specifications for clear flakes and Los Angeles food-grade pellets price assessments to reflect current market practice, effective Oct. 14.

The proposed changes would better reflect common material specifications and market practice in the domestic US recycled PET markets, according to market feedback.

The proposed changes below would impact the methodology specifications for the following daily assessments, in cents/lb, along with all associated $/mt conversion assessments and averages:
