Following a period of extended market feedback, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has decided to maintain the current practice of aligning publication of its US Aluminum Transaction Premium with a London holiday calendar.
Platts had proposed in a May 31 subscriber note that the assessment, published as a premium or discount to the London Metal Exchange's daily aluminum settlement price, be aligned with a US holiday calendar, effective from January 2023, found here.
Platts later extended the feedback period regarding this proposal, found here.
In their feedback, market participants expressed a strong preference for Platts to continue publishing its US Aluminum Transaction Premium in line with the London holiday calendar.
The decision means Platts will continue to publish its US aluminum transaction premium and all associated assessments and calculations on days when the LME is open.
Platts invites feedback to Platts_Aluminum@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
