Platts launches new Crude Yields, Netbacks and Margins

S&P Global Platts Analytics has launched a new Yields and Netbacks dataset effective Aug. 2, 2021.

Platts Analytics has made available its refinery values based on their proprietary refinery model yields, and corresponding netbacks and margins for various crude grades around the world. The intent is to provide Platts Analytics' estimates of the refined value of certain key grades into major refining geographies, and the ultimate margin to the refiner, after accounting for operating costs, freight, and cost of the crude.

The new Platts Analytics Yields and Netbacks tables will run in tandem with the current Turner Mason yields for a period of time until the discontinuation of the latter service. Platts will issue separate communication on the Turner Mason discontinuation in the coming months.

Following is a summary of the launch and changes:

The regions for which the Platts Analytics yields will be calculated are the US Gulf Coast, US Atlantic Coast, US West Coast, US Midwest, Northwest Europe, Mediterranean, and Singapore. These values will be generated on a daily basis, along with weekly and monthly average values.

The new symbols will begin updating from today, Aug. 2, 2021. The daily numbers will be available in Platts Crude Oil Marketwire and on PGA pages 0811, 0821, 0823, 0831, 0833, 0841,0843, 1811, 1821, and 2811. The weekly averages will start publishing on August 10, 2021, and will be available in Platts Oilgram Price Report and PGA pages 0813, 0825, 0827, 0835, 0837, 0845, 0847, 1812, 1822, and 2812. The monthly averages will be available in Platts World Crude Table starting September 4, 2021. The symbols will also be available within the Crude Service on Platts Dimensions Pro.

The new values will also be available in the respective Market Data Categories.
