Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing the launch of a daily assessment for the Chinese domestic ammonia market, effective Sept. 2, 2024.
In view of its impact on trade flows and pricing in the broader Far East ammonia market, Platts is proposing the launch of a daily (Monday-Friday) single number spot assessment for the Chinese domestic market, with Jiangsu used as the basis location.
The proposed assessment will be assessed daily on a 16:30 Penang timestamp and follow the Penang publishing calendar.
The daily assessment will appear in Platts Fertecon Daily and Platts Connect. The daily single price assessment from each Thursday will also be published in the weekly Ammonia Market Report.
The proposed assessment will have the following specifications :
Assessment Name: Ammonia China Domestic EXW Jiangsu
Quality: Anhydrous ammonia, which is around 82% Nitrogen and is stored and transported as a liquid under pressure at around minus 33 degrees Celsius, with no restrictions on carbon intensity
Quantity: Basis 25 mt, with relevant price information normalized to this point
Basis and location: Ex-works (EXW) basis Jiangsu
Timing: Loading 1-7 days forward
Frequency: Daily
Appears in: Platts Fertecon Daily, weekly Ammonia Market Report
Unit of assessment: CNY per mt
Timestamp: 16:30 Penang close, following the Penang publishing calendar
