Platts proposes new PE100 spot assessments in Europe, Turkey, Egypt
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to launch new weekly spot assessments for black high-density polyethylene with a pressure rating 100, known as PE100, for the Turkish, Egyptian, and European markets, effective Sept. 3.
The new assessments would provide transparency to the HDPE PE100 markets, while complementing Platts' existing suite of HDPE assessments.
Details of the proposed assessments are as follows:

Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized accordingly.
The proposed assessments would reflect spot values on a weekly basis at 4:30 pm London time and would follow the London publishing calendar.
Existing weekly commentaries and rationales for European, Turkish and Africa polyethylene would be expanded to include HDPE PE100 under this proposal and would continue to appear in Polymerscan, as well as on Platts Petrochemical Alert pages;
