Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has changed the specifications for urea ammonium nitrate and ammonium nitrate FOB Baltic, as well as the AN FOB Baltic/Black Sea nitrate, effective July 3.
This decision followed a proposal published on May 2 here. A decision note for the changes to these assessments was published on May 22 here.
Platts has launched a single number close value with standardized high and low ranges for the UAN FOB Baltic and AN FOB Baltic assessments. Change in methodology for AN FOB Baltic/Black Sea range assessment
Simultaneously, Platts has changed the specifications of the existing AN FOB Baltic/Black Sea range assessment (FANBA00) so they align with those of the above-mentioned AN FOB Baltic and AN FOB Black Sea assessments.
The weekly FOB Baltic/Black Sea AN assessment was previously published as a range with a low and high value. Following these changes, the low and high of the existing AN FOB Baltic/ Black Sea is now derived from the highest and lowest of the following three assessments: the close value assessment for AN FOB Baltic (FANBA04) and the high or low of the AN FOB Black Sea range (FANBB04). No new market information is considered for the assessment of the range.
Please refer to the subscriber note outlining recent changes to the AN FOB Black Sea range here.
All the above assessments appear under respective symbols in the Nitrogen Fertilizer report, Platts Connect and the Platts price database.
