Platts launches two UAN FOT US East Coast assessments; amends existing UAN USEC assessment
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched two urea ammonium nitrate US East Coast assessments along with changes to the existing weekly UAN USEC ex-tank assessment (FUANS04), effective July 1, 2025.
The two new assessments launched are FOT UAN Baltimore, Maryland and FOT UAN Wilmington, Delaware, reflecting the points of greatest spot liquidity on the US East Coast market. The launched assessments will enable to capture market activity on the East Coast of the US and complement Platts' existing coverage of the UAN market in the country.
Specifications for the two launched assessments, which are both published as single "close" values, will read as follows:
Assessment Name: UAN FOT Baltimore, Maryland (symbol FUZAE04)
- Quality: 32% N UAN Solution
- Quantity: basis 15 short tons (one truck load)
- Basis and location: FOT Baltimore, Maryland
- Timing: Loading one to 30 days forward from date of publication
- Frequency: Weekly (Thursdays)
- Unit of assessment: $/mt
- Time stamp: 16:30 São Paulo, following the São Paulo publishing calendar
Assessment Name: UAN FOT Wilmington, Delaware (symbol FUZAF04)
- Quality: 32% N UAN Solution
- Quantity: basis 15 short tons (one truck load)
- Basis and location: FOT Wilmington, Delaware
- Timing: Loading one to 30 days forward from date of publication
- Frequency: Weekly (Thursdays)
- Unit of assessment: $/mt
- Time stamp: 16:30 São Paulo, following the São Paulo publishing calendar
Simultaneously, effective July 1, the two new assessments reflect the high and low of the weekly urea ammonium nitrate USEC assessment (FUANS04). No other information will be taken into account. The specifications of the weekly assessment have also been adjusted to align with the specifications of the new assessments launched above.
Platts wishes to clarify that the existing assessment of urea ammonium nitrate USEC ex-tank (FUANS04) is assessed and will continue to be assessed on a FOT basis.
The assessment, published as a range, continues to be published every Thursday, with 16:30 São Paulo time stamp. The revised specifications for the weekly range are as follows:
