Platts discontinues potassium chloride FOB West Europe, FOB Black Sea assessments July 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued its potassium chloride (standard and granular) FOB West Europe and FOB Black Sea assessments, effective July 1, 2025.

The discontinuations reflect the diminished relevance of the West European potassium chloride export market and the limited use of FOB pricing in the Black Sea, and are in line with a decision note published April 22, 2025.

The discontinuation affects the following codes:

Assessment symbolAssessment name
FKCIC04Potassium Chloride (Standard) FOB West Europe Exp $/mt
FKCIQ04Potassium Chloride Granular FOB West Europe Exp $/mt
FKCIH04Potassium Chloride (Standard) FOB Black Sea (Spot) $/mt
FKCIP04Potassium Chloride Granular FOB Black Sea $/mt Wkly

Platts originally proposed the discontinuations on April 2 in a subscriber note available here.

Platts then announced the decision to discontinue the assessments on April 22 in a subscriber note available here.

The assessments will no longer appear in Potash market Report, European Fertilizer report and Platts Connect.
