Platts proposes to discontinue potassium chloride FOB West Europe, FOB Black Sea assessments July 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to discontinue its assessments for potassium chloride on an FOB West Europe and FOB Black Sea basis, effective July 1.

The proposed discontinuations are due to the declining relevance of the West European potassium chloride export market and the limited use of FOB pricing in the Black Sea.

The proposed discontinuation would affect the following codes:

Assessment symbolAssessment name
FKCIC04Potassium Chloride (Standard) FOB West Europe Exp $/mt
FKCIQ04Potassium Chloride Granular FOB West Europe Exp $/mt
FKCIH04Potassium Chloride (Standard) FOB Black Sea (Spot) $/mt
FKCIP04Potassium Chloride Granular FOB Black Sea $/mt Wkly

The assessments currently appear in the fortnightly Potash Market Report, and weekly prices are published on Platts Connect and S&P Connect.
