Platts to launch Gasoline Premium 10 ppm Non-Oxy FOB AR barge assessment Aug 12

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will publish a new daily assessment for FOB Amsterdam-Rotterdam (AR) Non-oxygenated Premium 10 parts per million gasoline barges, effective Aug. 12, amid market interest and an observed increase in the volume of non-oxy premium 10 ppm gasoline trading in the Northwest European market.

Platts understands that ex-refinery material of non-oxy finished grade gasoline, also known as non-oxy 'Euros' material represents an increasingly larger portion of the Northwest European break-bulk market, and market feedback has supported the introduction of a new assessment reflecting non-oxy finished grade gasoline to capture this trend.

The new Premium 10 ppm Non-Oxy FOB AR barge assessment will reflect the value of bids and offers for parcel sizes of 1,000 mt. In the Platts Market on Close assessment process used to support the new assessment, bids and offers may be published in multiples of 1,000 mt, up to a maximum of 5,000 mt.

The assessment will reflect material conforming to EN 228 standard for 95 RON, 85 MON and a reference density of 0.755 kg/l. The maximum sulfur content is 10 ppm, and the aromatics limit is maximum 35%.

Platts will assess the value of non-oxy finished grade gasoline barges loading on a FOB AR basis 3-15 days forward from date of publication on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 5-15 days forward on Wednesdays through Fridays.

All bids, offers and trades will be published FOB Amsterdam-Rotterdam. In the event of an expression of interest to trade, a seller will be able to nominate any standard terminal in Amsterdam/Rotterdam.

Loading nominations at Antwerp or Terneuzen will also be reflected in the assessment. Where Antwerp or Terneuzen are nominated, any demonstrable incremental costs incurred by the buyer should be borne by the seller.

The new assessment was previously proposed in a subscriber note published on May 8, which can be found here.

Platts continues to engage with relevant stakeholders and monitor for new fuel specification standards as they emerge to ensure its assessments reflect fuel grades that are most widely used.
