Platts to rename Japan low-carbon aluminum calculation, clarifies Japan aluminum premium assessment descriptions

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will change the description of its quarterly Japan Low-Carbon Aluminum all-in calculated price (JLCAC00), effective Aug. 11, 2025.

The description will be updated from Japan Low-Carbon Aluminum Forward Quarter Price (All-in) to Japan Low-Carbon Aluminum Quarterly Contract Price (All-in). The change aims to align descriptions across Asia Aluminum assessments.

The change will also apply to the associated monthly average ( JLCAC03 ).

Platts also clarifies that the descriptions for the daily CIF Japan aluminum spot and quarterly premium assessments are as follows:
