Platts proposes to discontinue US zinc weekly all-in price, maintain daily all-in calculation

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to discontinue its weekly Zinc US Dealer SHG all-in price (MMABF10), effective Jan. 3, 2023.

The weekly price is a duplication of the Thursday calculation of the Platts daily Zinc NA SHG all-in (MMABD10). Following the proposed discontinuation, Zinc NA SHG (MMABD10) would be the sole all-in price published.

Weekly (MMABD01), monthly (MMABD02) and yearly (MMABD16) averages for Zinc NA SHG all-in would continue to be published without interruption.

Under the proposal, the final publication date for MMABF10 would be Dec. 29, 2022.

The assessment proposed for discontinuation is published in the Platts Metals Daily, Platts Metals Alert and Platts Non Ferrous Metals Alert on page 306, and in the Platts Market Center, Platts Dimensions Pro and Platts price database.

Platts seeks feedback on this proposal by July 20.
