Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will refine and adjust the specifications of its FOB West Europe sulfuric acid assessment, effective July 2, 2025.
In a bid to narrow the scope of the assessment, Platts will change the quantity specification of the FOB W. Europe sulfuric acid assessment (FSAWA04), from the current " minimum of 6,000 mt" to a new quantity range of "18,000- 20,000 mt".
Platts will also narrow the location specification of the assessment to better reflect the most liquid part of the spot market, with Huelva in Spain as the basis location.
The price will be assessed as a single number "close" value with a standardized range - $1/mt above (high) and below (low) the "close" assessment.
The specifications for the assessment are detailed below:
