Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to refine and adjust the specifications of its FOB West Europe sulfuric acid assessment, effective July 2.
In a bid to narrow the scope of the assessment, Platts is proposing changing the quantity specification of the FOB West Europe sulfuric acid assessment (FSAWA04), from the current 'minimum of 6,000 mt' to a new quantity range of '18,000-20,000 mt'.
Platts also proposes that the location specification of the assessment be narrowed to better reflect the most liquid part of the spot market, with Huelva in Spain as the basis location.
Platts also proposes that the above price be assessed as a single number 'close' value with a standardized range - $1/mt above (high) and below (low) the 'close' assessment.
The proposed specifications for the assessment are detailed below:
