Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to amend the specifications of its FCA Benelux Diammonium Phosphate assessment, effective July 3.
The proposed changes would further tighten the assessment specifications in order to provide greater clarity and transparency.
The location specification of the assessment will be narrowed, with the port of Ghent in Belgium as a basis. Price information relating to other relevant Benelux ports will be normalized to this point, where applicable and possible.
Platts also proposes changing the timing specification to a basis of loading 7 to 21 days forward to provide a more precise assessment of market value. Platts would normalize information to this point where necessary.
Platts is proposing the launch of a single number "close" value for each of these assessments, with standardized high and low ranges $1/mt above (high) and below (low) this new close value.
The revised specifications for the assessments would read as follows:
FDPBX04 -- Diammonium Phosphate FCA Benelux FCA $/mt Wkly
· Quality: DAP with nitrogen content of 18% and a standard P205 content of 46%
· Quantity: Basis 25 mt
· Basis and location: Ghent
· Timing: Loading 7 to 21 days forward
· Frequency: Weekly, every Thursday
· Appears in: Phosphate Market Report, European Fertilizer Report
· Unit of assessment: $/mt
· Timestamp: 16:30 London close, published according to the London publishing calendar
The assessment appears in Platts Connect, the Phosphate Market Report, the European Fertilizer Report and the Platts price database.
