Platts launches CFR Vietnam, CFR Philippines caprolactam ammonium sulfate assessments; refines methodology for CFR SE Asia assessment May 8
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched two caprolactam ammonium sulfate assessments effective May 8, 2025.
Additionally, also effective May 8, Platts has refined its methodology for the current CFR SE Asia Caprolactam weekly range assessment (FASCF04).
This launch follows a decision note published April 3, 2025, and adds further granularity to Platts caprolactam ammonium sulfate coverage in the Southeast Asia region.
The specifications for the newly launched assessments are as follows:

Platts has launched two weekly single-number caprolactam ammonium sulfate assessments, CFR Vietnam and CFR Philippines.

Information regarding different location, cargo size and timing may be considered and normalized, where necessary, to align with the standard specifications listed above.
Change in methodology for SE Asia, Caprolactam, weekly range assessment (FASCF04)
Simultaneously, Platts has refined the methodology for its existing CFR SE Asia, Caprolactam weekly range assessment, effective May 8, 2025. The assessment reflects the CFR SE Asia, Caprolactam price, with the range derived from the two new assessments outlined above rather than being assessed in its own right. No other market information will be taken into account.
For example, if CFR Vietnam, Caprolactam was assessed at $175/mt CFR Philippines, Caprolactam at $180/mt on a given date, then CFR SE Asia, Caprolactam would be calculated as a range of $175-$180/mt.
