Platts to launch CFR Vietnam and CFR Philippines caprolactam ammonium sulfate assessments; refine methodology for CFR SE Asia assessment May 8
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch two new Asian caprolactam ammonium sulfate assessments effective May 8, 2025.
Additionally, Platts will refine its methodology for the current CFR SE Asia Caprolactam weekly range assessment (FASCF04), also effective May 8, 2025.
This decision follows a proposal note published March 18 and will add further granularity to Platts caprolactam ammonium sulfate coverage in the Southeast Asia region.
Launch of CFR Vietnam and CFR Philippines caprolactam ammonium sulfate assessments
Platts will launch two weekly single-number caprolactam ammonium sulfate assessments, CFR Vietnam and CFR Philippines.

Information regarding different locations, cargo size, and timing may be considered and normalized, where necessary, to align with the standard specifications listed above.
Change in methodology for SE Asia, Caprolactam, weekly range assessment (FASCF04)
Simultaneously, Platts will change the methodology for its existing CFR SE Asia, Caprolactam weekly range assessment, effective May 8, 2025. The assessment will reflect the CFR SE Asia, Caprolactam price, with the range derived from the two new assessments outlined above rather than being assessed in its own right. No other market information will be taken into account.
For example, if CFR Vietnam, Caprolactam was assessed at $175/mt, and CFR Philippines, Caprolactam at $180/mt on a given date, then CFR SE Asia, Caprolactam would be calculated as a range of $175-$180/mt.
