S&P Global Platts is opening a consultation to determine operational standards to be reflected in its US Gulf Coast crude assessments.
Platts seeks to further examine transaction standards in free-on-board (FOB) crude trades loading at ports on the Gulf Coast and determine their suitability for reflection in the Platts AGS (Platts code: AGSAA00) waterborne benchmark methodology.
In addition to general feedback on transactional and physical processes in FOB cargo trades for US crude, Platts seeks to gather specific information on the following: terminal and vessel nominations lead times, obligations; loading windows and laycans length of laycans, narrowing; pricing and payment terms pricing practices and options; and operational tolerance.
Platts invites questions, comments, and feedback by May 30, 2021. Please send responses to americas_crude@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if they are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make those not marked as confidential available upon request.
