S&P Global Commodity Insights will discontinue publishing assessments for California crudes, effective July 1, 2022, due to a lack of spot market trading activity.
S&P Global understands there is very little spot market trade of California crudes, with most production sold through longer-term contracts and consumed domestically.
Daily publication will continue for California crude posting prices from Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell and Union 76 for Buena Vista and Midway-Sunset crudes, which can be found on PGA 251.
The proposed discontinuation will affect the following codes:
Kern River PCABJ00 PCABJ03 AAFCL00 AAIIR00
Line 63/Hynes PCABM00 PCABM03 AAFCM00
P-Plus Line 63 PCAFV00 PCAFV03 AAFCN00 T
hums/Long Beach PCACD00 PCACD03 AAFCR00 AAIIU00
These assessments appear on Platts Global Alert pages 214, 215, 216, 1805 and in Crude Oil Marketwire, North American Crude and Products Scan and Oilgram Price Report.
