Platts to discontinue sulfuric acid FOB Japan and South Korea (contract, spot) and FOB Japan and South Korea (contract) price assessments June 25

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will discontinue two sulfuric acid price assessments, effective June 25, 2025.

This decision for discontinuation follows a proposal note published March 13, based on the limited activity and transparency in the sulfuric acid FOB Japan and South Korea contract market, as well as the presence of a parallel assessment that assesses spot market activity for the same markets (FSAJB04).

Platts will discontinue the following assessments:

Both assessments appear in the Sulfuric Acid Market Report, S&P Connect and the Platts price database. The last dates of publication of the assessments would be June 18, 2025.

The discontinuation will not impact the sulfuric acid FOB Japan and South Korea (spot) (FSAJB04) assessment, which reflects only spot market information rather than including contract data. This assessment will continue to be published.
