S&P Global Platts to amend composition of Bunkerworld Index (BWI)

In response to evolving market conditions, S&P Global Platts will amend the composition of its primary Bunkerworld index (BWI), effective April 8.

The change will remove IFO 180 CST assessments from the BWI, which will now be calculated using 57% Marine Fuel 0.5%S, 25% IFO 380, 15% MGO, and 3% MDO.

The revised BWI is calculated as follows:

((Average of all BBPs for IFO380 * 0.25) + (Average of BBPs for Marine Fuel 0.5%S * 0.57) + (Average of BBPs for MGO * 0.15) + (Average of BBPs for MDO * 0.03) * 1000) / 473.9503
