Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to discontinue nine European fertilizer prices, effective June 26, 2025. The assessments covered include calcium ammonium nitrate, prilled urea, potassium chloride, and ammonium nitrate.
The proposal to discontinue prilled urea assessments is due to the limited liquidity of prilled urea for fertilizer use in several European markets.
The discontinuations for CAN, KCl and AN assessments are attributed to Platts already publishing similar assessments in the same or adjacent markets.
Platts proposes to discontinue the following assessments:
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate CIF (inland) Dlvd Netherlands Eur/mt (FCANK04)
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate CIF (inland) Domestic Germany Eur/mt (AASLU00)
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (27% N) CIF (inland) Germany Imp Eur/mt (FCANG04)
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (27% N) Granular CFR Bulk Italy Eur/mt (FCANJ04)
Prilled Urea
Urea Prill CFR Germany Eur/mt (FUPGA04)
Urea Prill FCA Spain Eur/mt (FUPSB04)
Urea Prill Bulk CIF UK GBP/mt (FUPBB04)
Potassium Chloride
Potassium Chloride Granular FCA Ex-store Netherlands Eur/mt (FKCIY04)
Ammonium Nitrate
Ammonium Nitrate CIF Bagged UK Imp GBP/mt (FANIB04)
The assessments appear in Platts Connect, the Fertecon European Fertilizer Report, and the Platts price database.
The two CAN prices in Germany (AASLU00 and FCANG04) appear in the Fertecon European Fertilizer Report. Following the proposed discontinuation, they would be replaced in the publication with the existing Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (27% N) CIF (inland) Germany Eur/mt Wkly (FCANI04) assessment that already appears in the Fertecon Nitrogen Market Report. This assessment covers all products included in AASLU00 and FCANG04.
