S&P Global Commodity Insights proposes to launch daily spot R-PET clear flakes assessments for basis FOB India

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to launch April 3, 2023 a daily spot assessment for recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET) clear flakes for bottle grade applications on a FOB India basis, in light of market demand for greater pricing transparency and increasing demand for recycled plastics.

The proposed assessment would be based on the latest information sourced from the market up to the close of the assessment process at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT). It would be published in $/mt and would follow the Singapore publishing schedule.

The proposed assessment would reflect the product with the following parameters:

Volume: 20-200 mt

Quality: PVC 30 ppm, IV 0.72-0.78, 100% clear in color

Laycan: Loading 10-21 days forward from the date of publication

Location basis: FOB India, basis Nhava Sheva, Mundra and Hazira. Platts would also take into consideration pricing information from other ports in India, but would normalize them to West India ports for the assessment.

Payment terms: Direct debit (Other payment terms will be normalized to proposed standard)

Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized to the proposed standard.

The proposed assessment would be published alongside Platts' existing recycled assessments in Polymerscan as well as on the Platts real-time petrochemical service, Platts Market Center, and Platts Dimensions Pro.
