Platts to move MOC timestamp for FOB Australia phosphate assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will change the timestamp of the weekly FOB Australia phosphate assessment to 4:30 pm Penang time from 4:30 pm London time, effective Feb. 20.

The decision follows the proposal note published Jan. 15, in order to better represent trading activity in the Asian fertilizer markets.

The change applies to the following weekly assessment:

Diammonium Phosphate FOB Australia $/mt Wkly (FDPBI04)

The assessment appears in the Phosphate Market Report and is available via Platts Connect with a 4:30 pm Thursday Penang timestamp.

Full details of Platts Fertilizer coverage can be found in the Specifications Guide available here.

As part of this decision, Platts Asia fertilizer assessments would also follow a Penang holiday calendar, moving from a London holiday calendar at present. Further information on Platts pricing holiday schedule can be found here.

As of Feb. 20, bids, offers, trades, and indicative values will only be considered for the assessment if received before the 4:30 pm Penang time cut-off.

If the weekly publication day falls on public holidays in Penang, the Asia assessments will be published the preceding working day.

For example, the Phosphate Market Report is published on Thursdays.

As May 1, 2025, is a Thursday and a public holiday in Penang, the Australia phosphate assessment and commentary will be produced and published on Platts Connect and the Connect Data Browser on April 30.

They would appear in the weekly Phosphate Market Report, published on May 1, , alongside EMEA and Americas content generated on May 1.
