Platts discontinues daily and monthly Canadian OTC natural gas indexes

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued the daily and monthly Canadian OTC natural gas indexes effective Jan. 30, 2023.

The indexes represented trades at the TCPL Alberta, AECO-C, Dawn, Ontario, Westcoast Station 2, and Northwest, Canadian Border (Sumas), and Emerson, Viking locations that were not executed on the ICE NGX exchange.

The daily indexes were published in Gas Daily and Platts alert pages PGN1210 and AGP1210. The monthly indexes were published in Inside FERC First of the Month and Platts alert pages PGN1220 and AGP1220.

The discontinuation follows a proposal note published on Oct. 13, 2022, which can be found here.

The existing daily and monthly Platts and NGX indexes for these locations were not affected.
