S&P Global Platts is proposing to discontinue its summer US Gulf Coast gasoline supplemental assessments, effective March 30, 2020.
The proposed discontinuation follows the announcement from Colonial Pipeline that it will no longer ship 7.8 RVP CBOB, since Georgia received a US Environmental Protection Agency waiver in October 2019 allowing use of higher RVP fuel in the Atlanta area.
This leaves East Texas, which is not supplied by Colonial Pipeline, as the last remaining 7.8 RVP CBOB region in the southern US.
Colonial Pipeline stopped shipping 7.8 RVP conventional gasoline (M1) in the summer of 2016.
Platts last published summer supplementals from April 2, 2019, to August 28, 2019.
Platts is separately proposing to publish an assessment reflecting the value of RVP for US Gulf Coast gasoline blendstocks.
The affected assessments are as follows:
These prices appear on Platts Global Alert page 332 and in US Marketscan during the summer months. The main assessments for these and other gasoline grades will not be affected by the proposed discontinuation of the supplemental assessments.
Please provide comments or feedback on this proposal by February 21, 2020, to americas_products@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
