Platts changes names of sulfur, sulfuric acid, ammonium sulfate, and potassium sulfate assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has changed the names of several sulfur, sulfuric acid, ammonium sulfate, and potassium sulfate assessments.

These changes were made to align the spellings with its editorial standards, which use American English. Platts previously proposed this change on July 23 in a subscriber note available here and confirmed it would implement the change on Aug. 8 in a subscriber note available here .

The spellings of sulfur, sulfuric acid, ammonium sulfate, and potassium sulfate in the following assessments are now with an "f" rather than a "ph":

Platts has also added the word "Sulfur" to the official names of those sulfur assessments that did not previously contain it, such as "Liquid CPT NWE $/mt Qtly," which has become " Liquid Sulfur CPT NWE $/mt Qtly."

It has added the word "Freight" to the official names of freight assessments, such as "Sulfur Middle East-China 35kt $/mt Wkly," which has become "Sulfur Freight Middle East-China 35kt $/mt Wkly," in order to align with the company's assessment naming conventions.

The word "Sulfur" has been added to the following assessments.
