Platts proposes revisions to European Fertilizer Report, effective July 4

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing two modifications to the European Fertilizer Report in an effort to streamline the publication.

First, Platts proposes consolidating the existing nine European Market Commentaries (Benelux, Germany, Ireland, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Eastern Europe, and Agriculture) into five market commentaries. These would be divided as follows:

  • A Southwest Europe Market Commentary covering Spain and Italy
  • A Northwest Europe Market Commentary covering France, Germany, and Benelux
  • A UK and Ireland Market Commentary
  • An Eastern Europe Market Commentary covering Eastern Europe and Turkey
  • An EMEA Agriculture Commentary

This change would simplify the delivery of information in the report without affecting the scope of coverage.

Platts also proposes removing the European trade data in the second half of the European Fertilizer Report, as the trade data is already available to subscribers via S&P Global's Global Trade Atlas. Platts would also continue to report on trade developments in news stories and commentaries.

These changes are proposed to go into effect as of the July 4 edition of the European Fertilizer Report.
