Delivery to OOCL completed on July 11

Included simultaneous delivery of B30-high sulfur marine fuel oil

Advances CPN’s commitment to sustainable shipping

Chimbusco Pan Nation, on July 11, completed the "first-ever delivery" of B30-Marine Gasoil in Hong Kong, paving the way for the company to advance its sustainable marine fuels supply, CPN said.

The delivery of the B30-MGO, which comprises 30% biodiesel and 70% MGO, was made to Taiwan-headquartered Orient Overseas Container Line, representing the first time OOCL has received this fuel blend in the region, CPN said in a statement on July 11.

In addition to the B30-MGO supply, this operation included a simultaneous delivery of B30-High Sulphur Marine Fuel Oil, Hong Kong-headquartered CPN said.

According to CPN, it is the first bunker supplier in the region capable of providing all grades of ISCC-EU Certified marine biofuel, including marine fuel and gas oil, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the maritime industry's sustainable shipping pathway.

CPN, in June, signed an agreement with the Transport and Logistics Bureau, or TLB, of the Hong Kong government toward establishing special administrative region as a global hub for green marine fuel bunkering and trading.

Aligned with the government's Action Plan on Green Maritime Fuel Bunkering, launched in November 2024, this partnership is directed towards building a "robust green marine fuel bunkering supply chain, integrating the mainland's production capabilities with Hong Kong's international trading gateway," CPN said in a statement on June 27.

Beyond its advancements in biofuels, CPN is "pioneering" the use of methanol as a sustainable bunkering fuel, it said then.

"Building on its MOU with The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) in November 2024, this agreement with the TLB reinforces CPN's leadership in driving the maritime industry toward the IMO [International Maritime Organization] net-zero emissions target," CPN said at the time.

Earlier in July, CPN in a LinkedIn post said it had supplied over 78,000 mt of marine biofuel in Hong Kong in the first six months of 2025, exceeding its total biofuel supply for all of 2024.

In April, CPN started supplying B30 marine biofuels in Hong Kong. The move came after the IMO at its 83rd session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee, or MEPC 83, approved MEPC.1/Circ.917, providing interim guidance on the carriage of biofuel blends in conventional bunker ships. This circular allows for the transport of biofuel blends up to 30% by volume, a significant increase from the previous limit of 25%.

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, assessed B24 Biobunkers LSFO Singapore outright price at $691.75/mt on July 11, down 1.35% day over day.
