Exelon's Peach Bottom-3 nuclear unit shut for turbine maintenance

Washington — Exelon Generation's 1,375-MW Peach Bottom-3 nuclear unit in Delta, Pennsylvania, shut at about 5:45 am EST (1045 GMT) Wednesday "to perform maintenance on the nuclear plant's turbine control system," the company said in a statement.

For commercial reasons, Exelon does not disclose outage schedules for its generating units, including when they are expected to return to service.

"While the unit is offline, technicians will repair, inspect and fully test the electronic system that controls turbine speed," Exelon said.

The adjacent 1,355-MW Peach Bottom-2 "will continue to run at full power while Unit 3 is offline," it said.
