Platts to launch market-based NW Europe hydrogen assessment, April 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch a monthly market-based price assessment for renewable hydrogen in Northwest Europe, effective April 1.

Platts first proposed launching the assessment on Oct. 6, 2025, in a subscriber note available here , after a consultation that was opened Sept. 15 . The feedback period was extended to Jan. 16, 2026, in a subscriber note on Oct. 27, 2025, available here .

Platts has amended the frequency of the new assessment to monthly in line with feedback from the market. Platts would also like to clarify in the specifications that the price assessment will not include any subsidies.

The final amended specifications are listed below:
