January 15, 2026
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched new price assessments for Singapore-eligible International Carbon Credits, or ICCs, effective Jan. 15, 2026.
These assessments will reflect activity in both the spot and forward delivery markets for ICCs.
ICCs, under the Singapore carbon tax regime, are tradeable voluntary carbon credits generated by mitigation activities that meet high-integrity standards and criteria set by the government.
The Eligibility Criteria prescribed by the National Environment Agency of Singapore can be found here .
Singapore's carbon tax, introduced in 2019, applies to facilities emitting 25,000 mt or more of CO2 annually. Rates are set to increase progressively from S$25/mtCO2e in 2024-25, and S$45/mtCO2e in 2026-27, reaching S$50-80/mtCO2e by 2030.
Since Jan. 1, 2024, covered facilities have been allowed to offset up to 5% of their taxable emissions using ICCs that meet strict integrity criteria outlined by the government and in line with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
The specifications of the new price assessments are as follows:
Platts also publishes US dollar conversions, along with monthly averages for the assessments.
The first monthly averages will be published for the full month of February.
