Domestic sales rise 13% to 39.2 mil mt
Net sales increase 16% to $2.85 billion
India's UltraTech Cement reported a 12.2% year over year increase in consolidated grey cement sales volumes to 41.31million metric tons in the first quarter of FY2027 (April-June 2026), according to a company statement July 21.
The company said domestic grey cement sales volumes rose 13.1% year over year to 39.2 million mt, while capacity utilization reached 81% following the expansion of its domestic cement capacity to 200.1 million mt/year.
UltraTech's global cement capacity, including overseas operations, stood at 205.5 million mt/year at the end of June 2026.
Consolidated net sales increased 16% year over year to Rupees 244.65 billion (around $2.85 billion) from Rupees 210.40 billion a year earlier, supported by strong demand and the continued integration of acquired assets.
UltraTech said growth was supported by robust execution, operating efficiencies and the integration of acquired assets, including India Cements. The subsidiary reported a normalized profit after tax of Rupees 520 million in the quarter, compared with a loss in the corresponding period of the previous year, aided by an 18.5% increase in volumes.
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, assessed cement (ASTM type I) FOB Vietnam at $39/mt on July 16, down from $39.5/mt FOB the previous week. Platts also assessed cement clinker FOB Vietnam at $32.75/mt, slightly lower than $33/mt FOB the previous week.
