Cement consumption climbs 5.5% to 10.02 million mt
Recovery follows steep decline in previous years
Argentina's cement industry showed clear signs of recovery in 2025, reversing the contraction seen in previous years.
According to provisional data from the Asociación de Fabricantes de Cemento Portland, total cement dispatches — including domestic and export markets — rose 5.6% year over year, reaching 10.09 million metric tons, up from 9.56 million mt in 2024. Cement consumption followed a similar path, climbing 5.5% to 10.02 million mt.
This rebound follows a 3% decline from 2022 to 2023 and a steep 23.9% drop from 2023 to 2024, signaling a renewed surge in construction and infrastructure activity.
Monthly figures throughout 2025 generally outpaced those of 2024, despite a typical seasonal slowdown in December. The year ended with dispatches in December at 758,883 mt, slightly below the previous December, but the annual growth trend remained intact.
