What is Carbon Intensity?
Carbon Intensity (CI) is a measure of the amount of carbon dioxide equivalent emitted per unit of oil, which can be calculated throughout the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. Oil produced with a lower rate of carbon emissions has a lower carbon intensity than crudes produced with higher emissions.
