SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts announces mapping of daily, monthly ICE gas locations

On November 21, 2016 Platts announced an agreement with Intercontinental Exchange to improve Natural Gas price transparency and bolster North America price benchmarks. We are currently in a transition period before proposed changes would take place. This transition period is expected to last until the end of Q1 2017. After the period ends, Platts will publish daily and monthly physical natural gas pricing data for Platts and ICE locations. ICE will no longer publish physical natural gas prices. All ICE locations will continue to be listed for trading on ICE, but prices for ICE locations that match Platts locations will be discontinued and only a Platts price will be published. Platts will publish price data for ICE locations that do not match Platts locations when there are reported transactions according to the proposed methodology. A complete listing of the 217 ICE locations and their corresponding daily and monthly mapping to Platts locations has been published at http://www.platts.com/methodology-specifications/natural-gas.
