Platts launches daily Asia PMMA assessments for CFR China, CFR SEA on Dec 14, 2020

S&P Global Platts launches two new daily Asia Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) assessments on a CFR basis into China and Southeast Asia from Dec. 14, 2020, in light of market demand for greater transparency in the MTBE, Acetone and Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) chains.

The CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia assessments will be published in $/mt, and will reflect spot parcel sizes of 20-40 mt for delivery 15-30 days forward from the date of publication. Platts will take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the Market on Close assessment process at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT).

The CFR China assessment will reflect deliveries into Guangzhou in South China, while the CFR Southeast Asia assessment will reflect products for delivery into Map Ta Phut in Thailand. Bids, offers, and trades and price indications heard for delivery into other ports will be normalized to the basis ports.

CFR China and CFR Southeast are assessed basis LC 30 days.

Both the CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia assessments will reflect general purpose injection PMMA grade with Melt Flow Index of 230 C*3.8KG, Izod Impact Strength 23 C Notched/-30 C Notched, and Vicat Softening Temp 1kg 50 C/hr, 5kg 50 C/hr.
