Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is amending its publication of Qatar Land and Qatar Marine official selling prices following a decision by QatarEnergy to change the benchmark referenced in its OSPs for cargoes loading from January 2023.
In December, QatarEnergy announced its OSP for January-loading cargoes of Qatar Land and Qatar Marine as a differential to the monthly average of benchmark Platts Dubai assessments. Previously, QatarEnergy set its OSP as a differential to the monthly average of Platts Dubai and Platts Oman assessments.
Effective immediately, Qatar Land OSP differential (OSQLP00) and Qatar Marine OSP differential (OSQLMP00) reflect a spread against monthly average of benchmark Platts Dubai assessments for cargoes loading from January 2023. Historical data published under these symbols up until December 2022 reflect differentials to Platts Dubai and Platts Oman average.
Effective January 2023, the outright OSPs for Qatar Land (AAINK00) and Qatar Marine (AAINL00) will be calculated as the monthly average of Platts Dubai plus the respective OSP differentials. Historical data published under these symbols up until December 2022 reflect the sum of OSP differentials and the monthly average of Platts Dubai and Platts Oman.
The OSP differentials and outright OSPs are published in the Platts price database under the above symbols and on Platts Global Alert page 1067.
Separately, Platts has announced changes to its daily assessments of Qatar Land and Qatar Marine effective immediately. More details on the changes can be found here.
