SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes launching FD NWE food grade pellet assessment for recycled polyethylene terephthalate.

S&P Global Platts is proposing to launch a FD NWE food grade pellet spot price assessment for recycled polyethylene terephthalate in light of market demand and effective February 6, 2019.

The proposed assessment would better capture the full range of the European R-PET market and would complement the existing FD NWE R-PET flake assessment.

The weekly assessment would take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4:30 pm Wednesday London time and would reflect material with a minimum IV of 0.8 in minimum 20 mt parcels for delivery in Northwest Europe within 3-30 days from the date of publication.

The proposed northwest Europe food grade pellet assessment would be published on Platts real-time Petrochemical Alert page PCA 506, in Polymerscan, on Platts Market Center and in Platts Market Data.

Platts invites all stakeholders and interested parties to engage in the feedback process. The feedback period will conclude on December 31, 2018.
