S&P Global Platts has decided to discontinue its FOB US Gulf Coast 5-6% sulfur petcoke assessment and its FOB Venezuela 4% sulfur assessment that are published weekly on Global Coal Alert page 960, in Market Data category CI, and in Coal Trader and Coal Trader International.
Due to evolving market conditions, Platts believes there is no longer sufficient physical production and markets have become too inconsistent or unreliable to assess the following products:
Americas weekly spot price petcoke assessments for FOB US Gulf Coast 5-6% sulfur and FOB Venezuela 4% sulfur; affected codes are CPAGF00 and CPAAD00.
Additionally, Platts will discontinue monthly and quarterly averages for FOB Gulf Coast 5-6% sulfur and FOB Venezuela 4% sulfur; affected codes are CPAGF03, CPAGFO5, CPAAD03 and CPAAD05.
Platts will end publication of these assessments on February 15, 2017, and the changes will be effective February 22, 2017.
