Platts to expand list of ports reflected for CIF NWE jet cargoes MOC assessment process

S&P Global Platts will expand the list of ports reflected in its Market on Close assessment process for CIF Northwest European jet cargoes, effective January 13, 2020, to include Oikos Terminal at Thames in the UK.

This follows a proposal note published October 30, which can be found here: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/103019-platts-to-expand-list-of-ports-reflected-in-jet-cif-nwe-assessment

Following market feedback, Platts understands that Oikos terminal is an active and regular location for the importation of jet fuel.

Platts understands that the draft restrictions at Oikos terminal are 14 meters and throughput is estimated between 1 million-1.5 million mt per year.

Platts would start publishing bids and offers for "Thames-Oikos” in the MOC assessment process for CIF NWE jet Cargoes, in addition to the ports currently reflected.

The location will be added to eWindow functionality at a later date.

In the interim, Platts would expect market participants wishing to bid or offer into the port via the eWindow software to select the generic 'Port' hub and specify "Thames-Oikos” in the Terms, Quality and Conditions (TQC) box.

Platts currently publishes bids and offers into the following locations: Belgium: Antwerp, Antwerp ATPC, Antwerp Oiltank Ghent, Ghent Oiltank; France: Le Havre, Le Havre CIM; Netherlands: Amsterdam, Amsterdam Oiltank, Rotterdam; UK: Avonmouth, Fawley, Hamble, Immingham, Isle of Grain, Milfordhaven, Pembroke, Royal Portbury Docks, Shell Haven.

The CIF NWE jet cargo assessment is published in the Platts European Marketscan and PGA page 1489 and is identified in the Platts price database under the code: PJAAU00.
