S&P Global Platts will change the name of its daily assessments for butane delivered into Northwest Europe from "Butane CIF 1,000-3,000 MT" to "Butane CIF NWE Seagoing" effective January 2, 2020.
The current name is no longer reflective of the vessel size included in the assessment.
The assessment cargo size range is 1,000-3,600 mt.
The new title will remove the size reference and make it consistent with Platts Butane FOB NWE Seagoing assessment.
The assessment specification would be unchanged.
This decision follows a period of industry feedback.
The change was first proposed in a note published October 31: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/103119-pl atts-proposes-to-change-european-butane-cif-1000-3000-mt-assessment-name.
Please send any comments or questions by January 2 to europe_products@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing.
