SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to launch change of transaction size for FOB Turkey rebar assessment

SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to launch change of transaction size for FOB Turkey rebar assessment S&P Global Platts has changed the assessed quantity for its FOB Turkey rebar assessment to 10,000 mt from the previous 2,000-3,000 mt range, effective from December 3, 2018.

This follows a period of market consultation started September 20, 2018. Platts received positive market feedback to the proposal.

Market participants across the supply chain stated a 10,000 mt assessment would be in line with the most commonly traded cargoes and mirror the changing market dynamics seen over recent years.

In the assessment process Platts will continue to consider trades, bids, offers, indications and tradable values for cargoes of 2,000-60,000 mt but will normalize these to Platts base standards.

All other specifications will remain unchanged.

This change is for the FOB Turkey rebar assessment with the associated market data code: STCBM00 Please send all questions and feedback to longsteel_europe and pricegroup For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing.

Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
