Platts to publish new paraxylene spreads and proposes to discontinue origin spreads for Asian PX

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will start publishing near haul-long haul spreads for Asian Paraxylene CFR Taiwan/China, with effect from Jan. 2, 2024.

The publication of the near haul-long haul spreads for Month 1 (M1) and Month 2 (M2) follows a decision to update the methodology for its Asian PX CFR Taiwan/China benchmark assessments, effective Jan. 2, 2024, in a subscriber note published Nov. 20, 2023.

Simultaneously, Platts proposes to discontinue the publication of the M1 and M2 spreads of open-origin PX and Asia-origin PX on April 1, 2024. These spread assessments are published under the following price database codes:
