Platts Singapore Gasoil to reflect 500 ppm sulfur from 2013

Platts proposes to lower the sulfur specification of its flagship Singapore Gasoil assessment to 500 ppm from the current 0.5% (5,000 ppm) on January 2, 2013.

At the same time, Platts proposes to lower the sulfur specification of its flagship Arab Gulf Gasoil netback assessment to 500 ppm.

The lower sulfur specifications reflect changing supply and demand trends across the regions.

Platts previously announced that its Singapore "0.5%S Gasoil" assessment would be renamed Singapore "Gasoil" on January 3, 2012.

Platts intends for the newly renamed Singapore "Gasoil" assessment to reflect material containing 0.5% sulfur for the whole of 2012 before the intended change takes effect in January 2013.

The assessments appear on real-time service Platts Global Alert PGA 6, in APAGScan and in Oilgram Price Report.
