Platts to make Singapore gasoil announcement on November 22

(Clarifies contract specs before intended change to take effect Jan 2013)

Platts intends to announce on November 22, 2011 at 4:45 p.m. Singapore time (0845 GMT) a significant proposed change affecting the sulfur specifications that underpin its flagship Singapore Gasoil starting January 2013.

Platts previously announced that its Singapore "0.5%S Gasoil" assessment would be renamed Singapore "Gasoil" on January 3, 2012.

The renaming will facilitate the transition of the current 0.5% sulfur gasoil Asian benchmark to lower sulfur specifications over the coming years, reflecting changing supply and demand trends across the region.

Platts intends for the newly renamed Singapore "Gasoil" assessment to reflect material containing 0.5% sulfur for the whole of 2012 before the intended change takes effect in January 2013.

The assessment appears on real-time service Platts Global Alert PGA 6, in APAGScan and in Oilgram Price Report.
