Platts intends to announce on November 22, 2011, at 4:45 p.m. Singapore time (0845 GMT) a significant proposed change affecting the sulfur specifications that underpin its flagship Singapore Gasoil assessment starting January 2013.
Platts previously announced that its Singapore "0.5%S Gasoil" assessment would be renamed as Singapore "Gasoil" on January 3, 2012.
The renaming will facilitate the transition of the current 0.5% sulfur gasoil Asian benchmark to lower sulfur specifications over the coming years, reflecting changing supply and demand trends across the region.
Platts intends for the newly renamed Singapore "Gasoil" assessment to reflect material containing 0.5% sulfur for the whole of 2012.
The assessment appears on real-time service Platts Global Alert PGA page 6, in Asia Pacific/Arab Gulf Marketscan and in Oilgram Price Report.
